The 1993 general election in Australia took place on March 13, 1993. It was the election for the 37th Australian Parliament . From the two chambers of parliament , the House of Representatives (lower house) was fully elected and the Senate (upper house) partially re-elected.

The ruling Labor Party had clearly won the election and was even able to increase its absolute majority of seats in the House of Representatives. The loser in the election, although also with an increase in votes, was the opposition Liberal Party . The small opposition party, the Australian Democrats , suffered the greatest loss of votes.
