General election in Liberia 2011
The elections for the House of Representatives and for the Senate in Liberia in 2011 took place on October 11, 2011 at the same time as the presidential elections in Liberia , West Africa . The 73 seats for the parliament (" House of Representatives ") were completely re-elected, half of the 30 seats in the Senate , i.e. 15.
As a result, both in the House of Representatives and in the Senate, the ruling Unity Party again won the most votes (a good 17% and 12%, respectively) of all parties, but not a majority, but only around a third of the seats.
Results House of Representatives
The representatives to be sent to the House of Representatives were elected to the county. Each of the country's 15 counties was entitled to a certain number of representatives, depending on the county's population. In the 2011 election these were:
- Montserrado County : 17 seats
- Nimba County : 9 seats
- Bong County : 7 seats
- Lofa County , Grand Bassa County, and Margibi County each have 5 seats
- Gbarpolu County , Grand Cape Mount County , Bomi County , Grand Gedeh County , Sinoe County , Maryland County : 3 seats
- Grand Kru County , River Gee County : 2 seats each

Results Senate
The Senate of Liberia has 30 seats, with each of the country's 15 counties sending 2 senators. The one who received the most votes in a county is called a “Senior Senator” and is elected for a nine-year term, and the candidate with the next highest percentage of votes is called a “Junior Senator ”and is elected for six years.
