Paroli is the fifth album by the Austrian hip-hop group Texta . It was released on September 14, 2007 on the sub-label Tonträger Records of the Hoanzl company. In Germany and Switzerland, the release is a promo album that only certain radio stations got.

Background and commercial success

After the good sales of the albums So oder so and Blickwinkel , the band took a two year break and went on tour in between. At the beginning of 2007 Texta released the single (So ​​schnö kaunst gor net) schaun! Together with Attwenger . back. The song came into the program of the alternative broadcaster FM4 and after a short time occupied number one in the alternative charts. Due to popular demand, the song was also released as 7 inch and played in some discos.

The album went from 0 to 31 in the first week of placement, making it the band's best placement in the charts since its 14th anniversary. After that, the album was able to hold up for another week and kept falling several places.

Texts & music

There are many socially critical texts on the album. For example, it is about God's will of religious wars and the dependence of many people on their religion.

The musical style of this album can be assigned to hip-hop. But there are also influences from reggae and folk music .
