Parthenophilia

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Parthenophilie ( give a wiki. Παρθένος parthénos "virgin" and philia ) describes the erotic-sexual interest adults in pubertal girls .

From a sexual science point of view, this tendency must be differentiated from pedophilia , in which the coveted object is in the prepubertal stage. The term “parthenophilia” was used very rarely for a long time, but is gaining importance again with the focus on the subject of sexual abuse and the more precise differentiation that goes with it.

The term was coined by Magnus Hirschfeld and first appeared in 1906 in his work Vom Wesen der Liebe . There it is added to the term ephebophilia , which expresses the erotic-sexual interest in pubescent boys. In his work The Homosexuality of Men and Women from 1914, he presents a whole system of terms and describes the age from the beginning to the end of physical maturation. Under the differential typology of dissexual behavior, Beier , Bosinski and Loewit describe an age range from around 12 to 17 years, with female children and adolescents already in at least the first phase of physical sexual development (beginning pubic hair ). They also note that older young women can also be attractive if they are of the youthful type, as can girls who enter puberty at the age of eleven or twelve. In contrast to pedophilia, "it is a reaction that can be expected from a sex-biological perspective and is therefore not categorized as a disorder of sexual preference."
