Lolita complex

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A lolita complex or nymphophilia is the term used to describe strong erotic or sexual desire from middle-aged men to girls or young women. The object of desire is mostly in the age range from shortly before puberty to teenagers and often corresponds to the child woman type .

The Lolita complex is named after Vladimir Nabokov's novel Lolita from 1955. The word itself was formed between 1955 and 1966 by linking the name Nabokov's figure with the term complex . It was also used in psychoanalysis . The term "nymphophilia" (from nymph and philia ) is mainly used in English and came through translations into German-speaking countries. This desire experienced a special cultivation in Japan, where it is referred to as Roricon, outside of the Japanese-speaking area as Lolicon .

Definition, demarcation and classification

Nymphophilia is a special form of neoterophilia and parthenophilia . The main difference to pedophilia is that the coveted people mostly show signs of sexual maturity .

Colloquially, the definition is often less precise and, depending on the cultural convention, includes a lot, as soon as the age difference is large enough.

Sometimes a conceptual distinction is made between Lolita Syndrome as the secret longing of a healthy middle-aged man for a young girl and the Lolita Complex as an unhealthy desire for minors or minors . “Lolita Syndrome” is sometimes used to describe how society deals with the issue of child women. More rarely, it is used to denote a young girl's crush or love for an older man.

Criminal liability

Mutual relationships between young women and older men are common, mostly accepted in society and have no criminal relevance . For example, the age of consent in Germany and Austria is 14 years, so sexual relationships between young women from this age and men of any age are legal if they are based on reciprocity and there is no dependency.

Pathological expression

It is not uncommon for men of all ages to find youthful femininity erotic. However, if there is a very strong urge, then the lolita complex can be described as paraphilia . If the disease is manifest, there is a risk of sexual abuse being committed by adolescents or children .
