The play is of the participants of an annoyed by party noise man, noise -causing parties murdered . After the first level, which serves as a tutorial, the player travels across the USA and randomly murders people at parties. The story is told over and over again in smaller graphic sequences in which Detective John West, whose daughter is one of the killer's murder victims , is supposedly interrogated by an unknown person, as it turns out at the end of the game but only talks to himself.
Gameplay
The game goal from Party Hard is his pawn all individuals of a level kill . The player can kill the party goers in different ways. By default, a knife is available from the start, which can be exchanged for other weapons during the game. The action is viewed from a bird's eye view and each level always consists of the same basic design in which only the traps, people and objects on the map change after a restart. Similar Hotline Miami sets Party Hard on pixelated retro graphics of the 80s, but the levels are very designed in detail.
The plot about the killer and detective John West comprises twelve levels and seven additional levels outside of the plot. In addition, the game offers a Steam workshop connection so that user-generated levels can be played.
The game has a direct Twitch integration, which means that viewers of a Party Hard Stream can intervene in the current game and support or sabotage the streamer.
DLCs
On September 16, 2016 the free DLC Party Hard - Dark Castle was released , which contains four levels about the character Van Helsing .
On November 10, 2016, the DLC Party Hard: High Crimes , which takes place 10 years after the events of Party Hard , was released. The DLC is about the fact that the killer from the main game has not murdered for ten years, but after corrupt politicians and police officers have become more common in the city , they murdered them.
