Pascal Bedrossian (born November 28, 1974 in Marseille ) is a former French - Armenian football player . He played 115 games in the French first division and seven in the MLS .

Career

Born in Marseille, Bedrossian showed great footballing talent even in his youth, while struggling at school. However, since the city club Olympique Marseille was inaccessible for him, he began his career at AS Cannes . Under coach Luis Fernández he made his debut in the second division . In 1993 the team made the rise. Already during the first season in the first division Bedrossian came on 16 missions thanks to his versatility on the offensive. The team managed to stay up and in the following season he became an important part of the team with 25 missions. In the following years, however, he suffered more and more from the strong competition, consisting of players like Laurent Leroy and Samassi Abou . Therefore, he left AS Cannes in 1997, with which he had been relegated four times in a row. Bedrossian signed with the Stade Rennes , but only made six appearances there due to the lack of trust from his coach Guy David . In 1998 he therefore went to FC Lorient , where he should work as a playmaker with Ali Bouafia . The result was relegation to the second division only a year later. Due to injury, he came in the 2000/01 season on only four missions. However, the team managed to get promoted again and at the end of the following season there was another relegation, but also to move into the cup final . Bedrossian was on the field until he was substituted in the 84th minute and was involved in his team's 1-0 final victory against SC Bastia . In 2004 he switched to SCO Angers . With this club he managed to beat the club from his hometown, Olympique Marseille, in the cup competition. For a year he moved to Chicago Fire in the USA , where he was rarely used due to injury. He then let his career end with a lower class club. In 2010 he became an assistant coach at Miami FC .
