Pascale di Cagliari is an autochthonous red wine variety in Sardinia . It is mainly used for blending with other grape varieties in Sardinian DOC wines, in a number of Sardinian red wines it is contained in a proportion of up to 15 percent. In Sardinia, this grape variety is in fourth place with 3,159 hectares of cultivation area. Pascale di Cagliari is a variety of the noble grapevine ( Vitis vinifera ). It has hermaphroditic flowers and is therefore self-fruiting. In viticulture , the economic disadvantage of not having to grow male plants that produce yield is avoided.
