Pasi Kuivalainen (born July 15, 1972 in Kuopio ) is a former Finnish ice hockey goalkeeper who played in the SM-liiga for KalPa Kuopio from 1988 to 2004, among others .

Career

Pasi Kuivalainen began his career as a hockey player in his hometown with KalPa Kuopio , for which he was exclusively active in the SM-liiga from 1988 to 1997 . Then the goalkeeper stood for two years for their league rivals Ässät Pori between the posts, and in the 1999/2000 season for Ilves Tampere . This was followed by an engagement with the Pelicans Lahti , which he left during the 2002/03 season to end the season at Tappara Tampere , with whom he was Finnish champions for the first and only time in his career . By the end of the season, Kuivalainen was used in 18 regular season games and two playoff games. After this success, the Finn returned to his ex-club KalPa Kuopio, which had meanwhile been relegated to the second-class Mestis . With KalPa, Kuivalainen was once again master of the Mestis at the end of his career.

International

For Finland Kuivalainen took part in the U20 Junior World Championships in 1991 and 1992 . He was also in Finland's squad for the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer and the 1994 World Cup .
