Bridge over the Passer in Merano |
The Passer ( Italian Passirio ) is a river in South Tyrol ( Italy ). It arises from the confluence of several source streams at the Timmelsjoch and, with a length of 42.6 km, is one of the largest tributaries on the upper course of the Adige , into which it flows in Merano and thus drains into the Adriatic Sea. The Passer flows through Passeier ; its main tributaries are the Pfelderer Bach , the Waltenbach , the Kalmbach and the Spronser Bach .
The Passer is a popular destination for tourist activities such as canoeing and rafting , and since June 2015 the gorge between St. Leonhard and Moos can be hiked on the newly opened Passerschluchtenweg .
