Marc Raymond Pasture (born December 19, 1947 in Roeselare , Belgium , † January 5, 2017 in Aachen ) was a Belgian business manager . For many years he was at the top of various German and international large companies and corporations such as Metro AG and TUI AG . Since 2004 he had withdrawn from the operational management business and was active as an entrepreneur , business angel and consultant for change management , marketing and international issues, including as a board member of the EMA .

Pasture was fluent in five languages: Dutch / Flemish, German, French, English and Italian. He was the father of six children and last lived in Cologne and Hauset (Belgium).

Training and career entry

After graduating from high school in Ghent , Pasture studied business administration at the Rijksuniversiteit Gent and international finance management at the Università di Bocconi Milano . He holds an MBA from the Vlerick School voor Management of the Rijksuniversiteit Löwen-Gent and completed executive management courses at INSEAD Fontainebleau . In 1979 he was sworn in as the youngest commercial judge in Belgium. Pasture came to Pirelli through his first professional positions at Rank Xerox , the Dart Craft Group and Lambrecht Autobanden AG , where he took on various management positions in Belgium, the Netherlands and Italy for eight years .

Manager in Germany

In 1987, at the age of 40, Pasture became the spokesman for the management of Pirelli-Pneumobil GmbH in Germany. In 1988 he became CEO of Citroën Germany , where he was able to quadruple sales thanks to the upheaval in the new federal states. In 1992 the Metro Group brought him to the subsidiary VOBIS Microcomputer AG as deputy chairman of the board , where he was responsible for sales and expansion of the computer retailer. In 1995 he moved to TUI as a board member with a focus on tourism, where he introduced the “1-2-Fly” brand in the lower price segment and at the same time was able to protect the main TUI brand with an “exclusive offer strategy”. From 1997 he was managing director of the then ailing LTU Touristik GmbH on behalf of West LB as owner for the restructuring of the company and at the end of 1998 he realized the profitable sale of LTU.

In 1999 Pasture moved to VEW Energie AG in Dortmund , where he was on the board of directors responsible for preparing the company for the liberalization of the energy market . There were merger talks with RWE in Essen , so that, after the merger of the companies, Pasture came to RWE Plus AG as Board Member for Marketing and Sales and was able to contribute his change management expertise. From 2003 to 2004 he worked on behalf of Fiat -Holding as interim manager , the Alfa Romeo Germany to retire after age reasons from operational management business.

In 2004, Pasture and media manager Jörg Schütte founded the first digital television channel in Germany to specialize in cooking and enjoyment, tv.gusto (later BonGusto), which developed successfully with well-known moderators and advertising customers and which later became the market leader for food with Hubert Burda Media -Magazines involved. In 2009, Pasture sold its shares in Burda and became the special representative of the Burda board for business development .

Pasture has been active as a business angel, shareholder and consultant since 2004, for example for katialo (Düsseldorf) and MMM Business (Barchon, Belgium).

Pasture was a consultant in business and politics for change management, marketing and international issues. In this context, he was a member of the board of the Auslandsgesellschaft Deutschland and since 2015 board member of the Euro-Mediterranean-Arab Association (EMA).
