Patricia McPherson (born November 27, 1954 in Oak Harbor , Washington ) is an American actress and model .

life and career

McPherson grew up in Washington as the daughter of a Navy officer and spent many years in France while her father was stationed there. She later studied marketing at the universities of Florida and California before she was discovered as a photo model; to secure her livelihood she was working as a graphic designer for a magazine .

In 1982 McPherson was offered the "role of her life", with which she became known to a wide audience. In the action series Knight Rider she played the scientist Dr. Bonnie Barstow - the chief mechanic of the miracle car KITT

In 1991 McPherson withdrew as much as possible from the film business and has since devoted himself to environmental protection . Since 2003 she has been fighting to protect the Ballona Wetlands in Southern California .

McPherson is married to James Garrett .
