Patrick Adamson
Patrick Adamson (pron. Ädämsen ; * 1537 in Perth ; † November 26, 1592 in St Andrews ) was Archbishop of St Andrews in Scotland of the Reformed Church and was persecuted by Presbyterians.
Life
His father Patrick Adamson († 1570) was a citizen of Perth and dean of the merchants' guilds . Patrick Anderson Jr. was educated at the University of Saint Andrews and was rector of the same from 1576 to 1592 . Initially a lawyer , then a preacher at Paisley , he also became Archbishop of St. Andrews. He was also a Scottish courtier and envoy in London for several years . As archbishop he wrote the Catechism Carmine redditus in 1577 .
