Career

The 1.80 m tall defender completed a game for the Swift Current Broncos from the Canadian Junior League WHL in the 1997/98 season . Baum spent his studies at the University of Regina , for whose ice hockey team he played in the game operations of the college sports organization CIAU .

For the 2007/08 season , Patrick Baum and his brother Dan signed a contract with the German second division promoted Heilbronner Falken , with which he was able to reach the play-off semi-finals straight away. In addition, he received a German passport during this time, so that he did not fall under the foreign contingent of the 2nd Bundesliga.

Baum then moved to league competitor SERC Wild Wings , but returned to Heilbronn after only one season. For this he completed five seasons in the 2nd Bundesliga and the DEL2 . For the 2014/15 season, Baum moved to the Ravensburg Towerstars, who also play in DEL2 . After a year in Ravensburg, he switched to the Dresdner Eislöwen for the 2015/16 season .

He ended his career after the 2016/17 season and returned to Canada.
