The University of Regina is a state university located in Regina and Saskatoon , Saskatchewan , Canada .

The college was founded in 1911 as Regina College by the Methodist Church of Canada . In 1934 it was recognized as a university and in 1961 an administrative collaboration with the University of Saskatchewan . In 1974 the name was changed to the independent University of Regina .

The University of Regina with 15,000 students houses 10 faculties, 25 academic departments and schools, 18 research centers and institutes.
