The Acadia University is a state university , the predominantly undergraduate courses specialized, but in some areas even master and doctoral degree programs offered. It is located in Wolfville in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia .

After university ranking by Maclean's it is one of the best universities in the country, the undergraduate offering programs.

history

In 1838, Baptists created Queen's College as an extension of the Horton Academy founded in Horton in 1828 . Three years later the name was changed to Acadia College and in 1891 it was converted into a university.

building

The Ladies' Seminary , a three-story building in the Second Empire style, is located on the current campus of the university . The building housed the oldest higher education institution for women in Nova Scotia. The building was declared a National Historic Site of Canada on November 23, 1997 .
