The Concordia University of Edmonton is a private university in Edmonton , Alberta , Canada .

The college was founded in 1921 as Concordia College by the American Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod . From 1967 to 1995, college courses were offered together with the University of Alberta . In 1995 the name was changed to Concordia University College of Alberta . In 2015 the realignment as Concordia University of Edmonton took place under the sponsorship of the Lutheran Church - Canada .
