Patrick Kokontis

Patrick Kokontis (born September 4, 1964 in Egion , Greece ) is a Swiss writer.

Life

Patrick Kokontis grew up in Graz and in Seon, Switzerland . After attending grammar school , Patrick Kokontis studied English , German , computer science and psychology . He also worked as a journalist .

In 1993 he developed an AIDS disease. Since then he has lived as a freelance writer in Wilderswil . His literary work is strongly influenced by his personal situation. In 2000 he took part in the Ingeborg Bachmann Competition in Klagenfurt with an excerpt from his first novel .
