Patrick Schmidt (born April 14, 1992 in Ansbach ) is a German handball player who plays in the 2nd handball league for DJK Rimpar (in the DjK Rimpar Wölfe department ).

Career

Patrick Schmidt was born and raised in Ansbach (Bavaria). He took his first steps on the handball field at HG Ansbach. From there he moved to the newly founded handball performance center in Grosswallstadt in 2007, where he gained experience in the men's Bavarian league with the A and B youth at the junior academy. Following this, Schmidt played in the 3rd division with TV Kirchzell and from January 2012 with DJK Rimpar . At the same time, he was given the right to double play at TV Großwallstadt in the 1st handball league . From the 2013/14 season the backcourt player played for TV 05/07 Hüttenberg in the 2nd handball league. In summer 2015 he returned to Rimpar.

In addition to his appearances in the club teams, Schmidt went through all youth and junior selection teams of the German Handball Federation and played a total of over 100 international matches - some of them as captain of the junior national team.

In the 2012/2013 season, Schmidt achieved promotion to the 2nd handball league with the Wolves of DJK Rimpar, where he was instrumental in the success with 170 goals.

Others

After graduating from high school in 2011, Patrick Schmidt was a member of the Bundeswehr's sports promotion group. Since 2013 he has been studying at the Ansbach University of Applied Sciences in a course for international management specially geared towards top athletes.
