Patrick Stornig (born June 20, 1989 in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee ) is an Austrian football player on the position of defender .

Career

Club career

The 1.89 meter tall Stornig began his career at the age of six in the youth department of FC Kärnten . In mid-2008 he was loaned to FC St. Veit for half a year, but was not used there. In 2009 he played on loan at SV Spittal / Drau until the middle of the year , where he made his debut in the ÖFB Cup against SK Sturm Graz . At the end of 2009, Stornig moved to SC Kalsdorf , where he played two successful seasons under coach Hannes Reinmayr . In the 2011/2012 season he was under contract with UPS Allerheiligen .

In June 2012, Stornig moved to TSV Hartberg . He made his debut in Austria's second-highest division on September 14, 2012 in a 3-1 home win against SKN St. Pölten .

In June 2013, Stornig moved to SK Austria Klagenfurt , where he played in 25 competition games, including two in the ÖFB Cup, as well as 23 times in the Regionalliga Mitte, in defense or in defensive midfield.

Since July 2014, Patrick Stornig has been a member of the FC Gleisdorf 09 squad , for which he played a total of 81 competition games as a regular in the position of central defender, three of them in the ÖFB Cup.

In the 2014/15 and 2015/16 seasons, Stornig made a total of 57 appearances in the Styrian regional league, the fourth-highest performance class in Austria. As 2016 champions of the Styrian regional league, FC Gleisdorf 09 is entitled to take part in the championship competition of the Central Regionalliga and has been playing in Austria's third-highest performance class since July 2016.

In 2016/17, Patrick Stornig played 24 competition games in his position as central defender for FC Gleisdorf 09, who finished second in the championship as the most successful promoter to the Middle Regional League in the 2016/17 season. Even before the start of spring 2017, Patrick Stornig announced that he would end his career as a footballer at the end of the 2016/17 season for professional reasons. On May 26, 2017, Patrick Stornig played his (for the time being) last game in the Gleisdorf solar stadium.
