Patrick Wittich (born July 3, 1982 in Kaiserslautern ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

Wittich already played in his early childhood and youth for 1. FC Kaiserslautern , to which he had come from SV Wiesenthalerhof. He was one of the up-and-coming and ambitious talents of 1. FC Kaiserslautern from an early age. On the 1st day of the 2001/02 season he made his debut for the second team of FCK in the Regionalliga Süd .

Patrick Wittich played his first Bundesliga game on matchday 30 of the 2003/04 season in Berlin against Hertha BSC when he was substituted on for Mika Nurmela in the 84th minute when the score was 3-0 . In the end it remained with the 3-0 defeat for the Red Devils . But the beginning of his professional career was constantly interrupted by serious foot and knee injuries. In 2004 Wittich had to undergo another serious knee operation. Also at SV Wehen , where he was under contract in 2005/06, he was injured for a long time and therefore did not play a single game for Hessen. In the end, he had to end his career as a professional player due to injury.

From February 2007 he was at SC Hauenstein , where he could only play seven games in the Oberliga Südwest in the second half of the 2007/08 season because of his injuries. In the summer of 2007 he moved to the state division TuS Altleiningen. In 2008 he played at times in the B class at ASV Sembach, where he was more of a player-coach.

After Wittich had previously trained the Fortuna Düsseldorf U-16 team , he took over the youth department of SV Morlautern in January 2016 , where he worked as youth coordinator and coach for two years. In January 2018 he took over the post of head coach of the first team that plays in the major league.
