Patrick von Kalckreuth , until 1935 Patrick Dunbar (born August 7, 1898 in Kiel , † 1970 in Starnberg ) was a German painter .
Family and name
He was the son of the NN. Dunbar and Elisabeth, b. Block (1866-1931). His mother Elisabeth married his second wife in 1931 in Hannover the Royal Prussian Government Assessor Dr. jur. Richard von Kalckreuth (1878-?), First Lieutenant and Knight of Honor of the Order of St. John .
Stepfather Richard von Kalckreuth adopted his wife's two sons - Patrick, now 36 years old, and the younger Frederik - by contract dated April 4, 1935 at the Berlin-Charlottenburg district court .
life and work
Patrick von Kalckreuth lived in Düsseldorf and Berlin , among others , but the North Sea inspired his motifs. As a landscape and marine painter , he was known for his oil paintings on subjects related to surf and sea.
