Paul-Friedrich Berger

Paul-Friedrich Berger (born January 18, 1890 in Krefeld ; † March 30, 1971 ) was a German high school teacher and social democratic politician (member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia ).

Life and work

After attending secondary school , Berger studied philosophy , mathematics and natural sciences and obtained his doctorate in 1913. phil. He was a soldier during the First World War . From 1919 he taught at various schools. Between 1927 and 1930 he was a lecturer at the Thuringian Folk High School. In 1945 Berger was appointed acting director of the state high school in Wesel . From 1947 he worked at a grammar school in Oberhausen . He also worked as a lecturer and writer in the cultural field.

Political party

Immediately after his return from the First World War, Berger became a member of the SPD and worked for the party in the various places of his professional activity. From 1930 he was cultural advisor for the SPD in the Duisburg Wesel sub-district and also worked in the cultural-political field for the party and the free trade unions . In 1945 he was a major new founder of the SPD in the Rees district . He was a board member of the party in Wesel and in the subdistrict, as well as parliamentary group chairman and deputy mayor in Wesel. In addition, the state chairman of the working group of social democratic teachers .

Mandates

Berger belonged to the two appointed North Rhine-Westphalian state parliaments in 1946/47 . In the first second electoral term, he moved up on July 29, 1947 for his retired party friend Heinrich Klerx . After the state elections in 1950, he initially resigned from parliament, but then replaced the late Albert Martmöller on January 7, 1954 until the end of the electoral term in July 1954.
