Paul-Oskar Seese

Paul-Oskar Seese (born April 30, 1927 in Sternberg ; † November 6, 2013 in Parchim ) was a German painter .

Life

At the end of the Second World War he was taken prisoner by the British near Taranto . Here in Italy he was discovered and promoted by an artist. He found inspiration in the southern Italian landscape and began to paint.

After his release from captivity, he earned his living as a freelance artist. In 1951 he moved to the vicinity of Parchim and became an art teacher at the Dobbertiner School. He completed a teaching degree and an art teacher degree in Erfurt .

Since then he has influenced several generations through his work as a decades-long artist and teacher. From an artist circle he directed in the field of visual folk art creation, the amateur association visual arts eV developed in Parchim in 1991.

Although he was retired in 1992, he has long taught courses in painting and other fields of fine arts . He worked with a variety of techniques and materials in an abundance of stylistic variants of Realistic Expressionism . Thematically, Seese found time and again to depictions of landscapes, the authenticity of which became documents of Mecklenburg's change .

His work has been documented in several exhibitions so far.
