Paul Agostino (born June 9, 1975 in Adelaide , South Australia ) is a former Australian football player of Italian descent.

Career

Agostino played most of his career in Germany for TSV 1860 Munich . With the fans, the striker enjoyed u. a. cult status because of his almost ten years membership in the association. As the only one from the lion squad, he was celebrated by the fans with the addition of " football god " when the line-up or his substitution was announced .

After the 2006/07 season he moved to the Australian first division club Adelaide United , where he ended his active career in 2009.

With the Australian national soccer team, Agostino took part in the U-17 World Cup in 1991, U-20 World Cup in 1993 and the 1996 Olympic Games. The greatest success was winning the 2000 Oceania Football Championship in Tahiti .

At the age of 36, Agostino and his family permanently emigrated from Australia and returned to Germany to settle again in Munich . He has two daughters with his wife from Munich. Both were born in Munich. Together with Roman Týce , Patrick Ghigani and Michael Hofmann he runs the soccer school “Munich Soccer Camp”.
