Paul Albers (born October 15, 1985 in Melville , Saskatchewan ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has been under contract with SG Cortina since 2012 in the Italian A1 series .

Career

Paul Albers began his career as a hockey player in Canada's top junior league Western Hockey League , where he was active for the Calgary Hitmen , Regina Pats and Vancouver Giants from 2001 to 2006 , with the Vancouver Giants in the 2005/06 season Ed Chynoweth Cup won. Then the defender got a contract with the Texas Wildcatters , the farm team of the Houston Eros from the American Hockey League , for which he was in the ECHL in the 2006/07 season on the ice. The left shooter ran for the Houston Eros from 2006 to 2009 in the AHL, before he was signed by the Nürnberg Ice Tigers from the DEL for the 2009/10 season . In 2010 he switched to the Krefeld Penguins . A year later, the defender was signed by the Tohoku Free Blades from the Asia League Ice Hockey . In the summer of 2012 he moved to Italy, where he signed with SG Cortina .
