Paul Albrecht (born September 6, 1863 in Ribnitz ; died after 1935 ) was a German writer.

Life

Albrecht's father was a master baker, but entered the civil service when Albrecht started school and the family began to move frequently. Finally Albrecht entered the sixth class of the grammar school in Demmin , where he stayed up to the prima and then became a subordinate official in the railway administration and finally made it to the railroad secretary, at the same time he worked as a writer and specialized in novels and stage poetry. He lived in Schlachtensee near Berlin and in Kleinmachnow .

Through his novel Im Zukunftsstaat (1905), published under the pseudonym Hans Hardt , Albrecht is a representative of the German future novel before the First World War. The novel gives a utopian draft of a state in the year 2411. From a historical review it becomes clear that through a Russian revolution the teachings of Leo Tolstoy spread throughout the world in the future. In 2011 a “world alliance” was founded. In this future world, religion and meat consumption are considered basic evils, and prostitution , homosexuality and alcoholism are also resolutely fought. The protagonist Armin Hardt gets to know the “beneficial” institutions of this future state on a trip from Kiel to Italy. He also finds a companion on this trip.

In 1933 Paul Albrecht joined the Reich Association of German Writers . V. (RDS), which existed until 1935.
