Paul Aler
Paul Aler (born November 9, 1656 in Sankt Vith ; † May 2, 1727 in Düren ) was a Jesuit , philologist and poet from Luxembourg .
Paul Aler joined the Jesuit order in 1676 and became a teacher at the Collegium Tricoronatum in Cologne . From 1713 he was professor of philosophy and moral theology at the University of Trier . He wrote a Gradus ad Parnassum and more than thirteen neo-Latin dramas with musical sections. They were performed on the German stages of the Society of Jesus in Aachen, Trier and Cologne.
