Paul Busching

Paul Busching (born March 2, 1877 in Hamburg , † April 25, 1945 in Berlin ) was a German economist and housing reformer.

Busching studied economics and law in Munich and campaigned for the promotion of housing construction. In 1899 he founded the Association for the Improvement of Housing in Munich (today: Gemeinnütziger Wohnungsverein München 1899 eV ). In 1909 he became a board member of the Association of Bavarian Housing Companies . In 1913 Busching became a professor at the Technical University of Munich , where he taught small housing and housing developments. In 1917 he became managing director of the Bayerische Landessiedlungsgesellschaft , in 1918 a member of the committee of the GWG Städtische Wohnungsgesellschaft .

In 1933 all offices were withdrawn from him because of his opposition to the National Socialists. He died in Berlin in 1945.

In Munich, the Buschingstraße in the Parkstadt Bogenhausen, named after him in 1955, commemorates Paul Busching . There is also a memorial for him on Buschingstrasse: a bronze sculpture created by Seff Weidl in 1958 , which represents a foundation stone.
