Paul Duboy (born July 8, 1830 in Tours , † 1886 ) was a French sculptor .

Life

Paul Duboy was a student of Jean François Théodore Gechter and Jean-Jacques Elshoecht . He attended the École des Beaux-Arts de Paris from 1849 . Between 1852 and 1883 he regularly showed works such as busts, statues and medallions at the Salon de Paris . His last work, a bronze bust of the young girl Thérèse Girard, was shown posthumously at the Salon of 1887.

Some of his designs were implemented in porcelain by the Manufacture royale de porcelaine de Sèvres , exhibits of which are in the holdings of the Musée Baron-Martin in Gray . His work Buste d'une jeune femme was part of an exhibition at the Royal Museums of Art and History in Brussels in 1975 .

One of his students was the sculptor Frédéric Fouchet .
