Paul Ernst Jablonski

Paul Ernst Jablonski (born December 28, 1693 in Berlin , † September 13, 1757 in Frankfurt (Oder) ) in Latin publications also Pavli (Pauli) Ernesti Iablonski was a German Reformed theologian and orientalist .

Life

The son of the German court preacher Daniel Ernst Jablonski attended the Joachimsthal Gymnasium in Berlin and then studied theology at the University of Frankfurt / Oder . Then he continued his studies in his hometown. After he had published a Disquisitio de lingua Lycaonica in 1714 , he traveled through Germany , the Netherlands , England and France until 1720 . Jablonski was employed as a preacher in Liebenberg . In 1721 he became professor of philology and associate professor of theology in Frankfurt (Oder) , at the same time preacher there. Paul Jablonski became a doctor and full professor of theology in 1727; in 1741 he was withdrawn from the preaching office at his own request.

Jablonski was a member of the Berlin Academy of Sciences and was married to Sophie Charlotte Bergius (April 29, 1698, † 1779). The couple had 8 children, one of their sons was court preacher Daniel Siegfried Jablonski .
