Paul Ferris

Richard Paul Ferris (born May 2, 1941 in Corby , Northamptonshire , † October 30, 1995 in Bristol ) was a British actor , film composer and screenwriter .

Life

Ferris began his acting career in the early 1960s. After episodic roles in television series and a supporting role in the feature film Seduce Will Be Learned ... he received the recurring role of David Marlowe in the series Der Baron in 1966 . In the same year he began to work as a film composer; to 1974 he composed the music for several short films as well as British B-movie - horror films ; including The Witch Hunter with Vincent Price in the lead role. In this film from 1968 he also had his last film role under the pseudonym Morris Jar . He also wrote production music for De Wolfe Music ; his play In the Shadows was used (without naming his name in the credits) in The Knights of the Coconut and Jabberwocky .

Two of his compositions were also able to place in the British charts. The piece Visions , interpreted by Cliff Richard , reached position 7 in 1966 (Germany: position 40); In the following year, The Shadows occupied position 24 with the instrumental title Maroc 7 .

In 1974, Ferris, who suffered from Huntington's disease, ended first. In 1985, the five-part miniseries The Detective was created , and he was involved in the script. In 1995 he committed suicide.
