Paul Grobis

Paul Grobis (born June 3, 1894 in Neudörfel, Bohemia , † November 26, 1943 ) was a German politician ( KPD ).

Life

Paul Grobis completed an apprenticeship as a machinist and took part in the First World War as a soldier . After his return from the war, he first joined the USPD , but switched to the KPD in 1920 and became party secretary in 1923. As a supporter of the left wing of the party around Ruth Fischer , he was organ leader for the Lower Saxony district from 1924 to 1926, based in Hanover . In the autumn of 1924 he was briefly imprisoned. Then he was party secretary in Frankfurt (Oder) and Berlin- Brandenburg-Ost.

In May 1928 Grobis was elected as a member of the Prussian state parliament, to which he was a member until 1932. He represented constituency 5 (Frankfurt a. O.) in parliament.

Grobis took courses at the Lenin School in Moscow from February 1930 and had been Polleiter for the KPD district of East Prussia from 1931. A year later he returned to the party headquarters.

After the National Socialists came to power and the KPD was banned, he tried to maintain his political activity, but was denounced by Werner Kraus in 1934 and then arrested by the Gestapo . His statements during the interrogations subsequently led to several arrests of former KPD functionaries.

Grobis later took part in World War II as a soldier and fell on the Eastern Front in late 1943 . He was buried in the “ In den Kisselncemetery in Berlin-Spandau .
