Paul Guimard
Paul Guimard (born March 3, 1921 in Saint-Mars-la-Jaille , Loire-Atlantique department , † May 2, 2004 in Hyères , Var department ) was a French writer.
Guimard began his career as a journalist . He published his first novel, Les faux frères , in 1956 and received the Grand Prix de l'Humour for it . A year later he received the Prix Interallié . His work Les choses de la vie was filmed in 1969 by Claude Sautet with Romy Schneider and Michel Piccoli . In the 1970s he wrote columns for L'Express magazine .
After the French Socialists won the elections in 1981, Paul Guimard briefly became an advisor to President François Mitterrand , with whom he had been friends since World War II .
Guimard shared his passion for fishing , sailing and the sea with his wife, the French novelist Benoîte Groult ( salt on our skin ). According to her, he died of a heart condition.
