Paul Köster (painter)
Paul Alexander Köster , also Koester (born September 24, 1855 in Bremen , † 1946 in Düsseldorf ), was a German landscape and marine painter .
Paul Köster was the son and student of the landscape painter Carl Georg Köster (1812-1893). Since October 28, 1876 he studied painting in the nature class of the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich . He continued his studies in Düsseldorf with Andreas Achenbach . He then worked in Düsseldorf as a freelance artist and member of the Malkasten artists' association . Since 1880 he visited the Netherlands several times .
