Paul Kemetter

Paul Kemetter (born August 15, 1898 in Vienna ; † April 30, 1983 there ) was an Austrian sound engineer .

Paul Kemetter was the son of August Maria Kemetter (1866–1945) and his wife Paula Raubal. Kemetter finished his engineering studies (degree: Diplomingenieur) and then initially worked in non-cinematic areas; In 1931 he was an electrical engineer in Vienna-Penzing. It was not until the mid-1930s that he could be verified as a sound engineer for film, starting with work for small Viennese production companies. He remained active in this trade for a good two decades. During those years Kemetter oversaw several productions by EW Emo , only interrupted by the Second World War and the early post-war period . When director Emo ended his film career in 1957 with the comedy When the Bomb Bursts, Kemetter, who was almost the same age, also withdrew from the film business. What he did in the remaining 25 years of his life is currently unknown. Paul Kemetter died on the last day of April 1983 and was buried on May 9, 1983 in Vienna-Hietzing.
