action

The thug trio Tarzan, Gustav and Schnecke blows up a bank vault. Unfortunately for the three of them, there is an eyewitness: the trumpeter Peter. So that he can't whistle, they simply take him hostage to their suburban apartment, which is managed by Tarzan's bride Lilly. But what the big boys don't know: The trumpeter's fiancée runs a veterinary practice on the floor below them.

When the crooks take a look at the morning paper the next day, they are almost hit; because they were filmed by a camera unnoticed. However, Tarzan manages, in the guise of a Scotland Yard reporter, to steal the film role from the grossly overestimating criminal inspector Grotinger. In the domestic circle, the scoundrels look at the strip. Gustav is extremely embarrassed about this; because now his accomplices learn how he has branched off a few jewels for himself from the booty. During the ensuing argument, the reel of film goes up in flames and the hostage manages to escape.

Because the ground underfoot has become too hot for the burglar clover, it is looking for protection in a sanatorium. However, Grotinger soon finds the three of them. Now it's time to look for the distance again. Before that, however, the crooks go to the barn where they have hidden their prey. With horror they see a fully loaded hay wagon drive out. You follow him and end up in a circus. When it gets dark, the friends break into the cages and look for the treasure. Your escaped hostage, who has found a job as a trumpeter here of all places, recognizes his kidnappers and alerts the police. During the evening performance, the spectators experience a hunt for the trio of crooks. Peter receives a handsome reward and Tarzan, Gustav and Schnecke end up in prison.

additions

The film was shot in the Rosenhügel film studios in Vienna. The buildings were designed by the film architect Fritz Mögle . The director Franz Josef Gottlieb , who later became very famous, still worked here as an assistant director.

criticism

The lexicon of international films describes the film as a grotesque film with an idiot criminal police, gangster bride and the happy ending of two hostages.
