Wera Frydtberg

Wera Frydtberg (born August 11, 1926 in Freiburg im Breisgau ; † June 16, 2008 in Munich ), born in Wera Friedberg , married Wera Urbach , also known as Vera Friedtberg , was a German stage and film actress .

Life

The daughter of a doctor attended secondary school and then took acting lessons from Neugebauer in Vienna. From 1949 she was on stage in numerous theaters, including the Akademietheater and the Kosmos Theater. Until 1962 she worked at the famous theater in der Josefstadt . From 1953 she gave guest performances at the Renaissance Theater in Berlin, the Comedy Berlin, the Small Comedy in Munich, the Comedy Düsseldorf, the Theater Die Kleine Freiheit Munich and the Schlosspark-Spiele Wiesbaden.

Since 1951 she has appeared in over 30 films and as many television games. She became known to a larger audience mainly through her film roles in I often think of Piroschka (1955) and Wir Wunderkinder (1958). She was married to the emigrant and American officer Otto Urbach (1913–1976) and was the mother of the historian Karina Urbach . She rests in the cemetery in Überlingen .
