Paul Kenjirō Kōriyama

Paul Kenjirō Kōriyama ( Japanese パ ウ ロ 郡山 健 次郎 , Pauro Kōriyama Kenjirō ; born August 20, 1942 in Tatsugō , Amami-Ōshima , Kagoshima Prefecture , Japan ) is a Japanese clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic Bishop of Kagoshima .

Life

Paul Kenjirō Kōriyama received on March 20, 1972 the ordination for the diocese of Kagoshima .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him Bishop of Kagoshima on December 3, 2005. The episcopal ordination received his his predecessor Paul Shinichi Itonaga on 29 January 2006; Co- consecrators were Joseph Mitsuaki Takami PSS , Archbishop of Nagasaki , and Peter Takeo Okada , Archbishop of Tokyo .

On July 7, 2018, Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation.
