Paul Kugler (born September 24, 1889 in Berlin-Tempelhof , † October 30, 1976 in Berlin-Charlottenburg ) was a German football player .

The Berliner began his football career with Berliner SC in 1905 and switched to BTuFC Viktoria 89 in 1910 . Tall Hendrik , as he was called by his friends because of his height of 1.86 m, was a versatile footballer who was mostly used in the storm in the half-left position, but was also used as a center runner and goalkeeper. On June 4, 1911, he and his team became German champions after the final against VfB Leipzig was won 3-1, to which he contributed a goal, the goal of 2-0 in the 52nd minute. After the end of the First World War , he moved to the United Breslauer Sportfreunde , with whom he was five times Southeast German champion and once second in the championship between 1920 and 1927 . In the same period he also took part in five finals for the German championship , in which the Breslauer Sportfreunde advanced to the semi-finals in 1920. As an association selection player, Kugler donned the Berlin jersey 28 times and the Silesian jersey 22 times. According to individual information, Kugler returned to the Berliner SC at the end of his career.

National team

Kugler became a national player in 1911 and made his debut on October 29 in Hamburg in an international match against the Swedish national team , which was lost 3-1. He played his last international match as a middle runner on May 18, 1913 in Freiburg im Breisgau in the 1: 2 defeat against the Swiss national team .
