Paul Löher (born June 29, 1924 in Hörde ; † February 27, 1995 in Dortmund ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

Löher was the son of company employee Johannes Löher and Anna, née Geldmacher. After attending elementary school and graduating from high school, he completed an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk, which he completed with the assistant examination. He was then drafted into the Wehrmacht and took part in the Second World War as a soldier from 1943 to 1945 , most recently as a lieutenant. At the end of the war he was taken prisoner.

From 1948 Löher worked as a commercial clerk at Hoesch Hüttenwerke AG in Dortmund, where he was promoted to clerk in 1954 and to group leader in 1966. From 1947 he was a member of IG Metall , for which he sat on the works council of Hoesch AG from 1963. In addition to his professional and trade union activities, he took part in military exercises of the Bundeswehr , most recently in the rank of lieutenant colonel in the reserve.

Paul Löher had been married since 1947 and had two sons. He lived in the Barop district of Dortmund .

Political party

Löher had been a member of the CDU since 1953. He was a member of the district board of the CDU Dortmund, had been a member of the state board of the social committees Westphalia-Lippe since 1963 and in 1969 became chairman of the working group of Christian-social business groups of the CDU state association Westphalia-Lippe.

MP

Löher was a council member of the city of Dortmund from 1956 to 1972, where he was elected chairman of the CDU council group in 1961. He was a member of the German Bundestag from April 23, 1972, when he replaced the retired member Theodor Blank , until 1987. He was always drawn into parliament via the state list of the CDU North Rhine-Westphalia .
