Paul Reinhard Beierlein

Paul Reinhard Beierlein (born July 20, 1885 in Elsterberg , † April 9, 1975 in Radebeul ) was a German homeland researcher .

Live and act

Beierlein worked as a teacher in Dresden from 1909 . From 1949 he lived in the Niederlößnitz district of Radebeul , where he taught at the elementary school.

His numerous local history works deal with his native region Vogtland and with his later home Radebeul. His focus is on local, mining and Saxon history.

In 1958, the town of his birth, Elsterberg , which also named a street after him, made him an honorary citizen . In 1966 he was awarded the Leibniz Medal by the German Academy of Sciences in Berlin .
