Paul Wisner Renne (born November 9, 1939 in Bozeman , Montana , † April 18, 1970 in Hays , Kansas ) was an American biathlete .

Life

Paul Renne attended Montana State College , where his father, who later became a politician, Roland Renne , was president for a long time. He started out cross-country skiing , then switched to biathlon after college and the move to the US Army , for which he also competed. In the qualifying competitions (Trials) before the Olympic Winter Games in 1964 , he was able to place and qualify in second place. The first lieutenant took part in his only major biathlon event at the Games in Innsbruck and was the weakest American in 39th place. Renne died in a car accident in 1970.
