Paul Rodriguez (born January 19, 1955 in Culiacan , Mexico ) is an actor and comedian .

Life and accomplishments

Rodriguez grew up in a suburb of Los Angeles , then served in the US Air Force . After completing his military service, he studied law , during which time he developed an interest in acting. He has been a comedian since 1983 , at the same time he made his debut as a film actor. In the action-comedy D.C. Cab (1983) by Joel Schumacher , he stood beside Mr. T on. In the thriller Quicksilver (1986) he played alongside Kevin Bacon .

He won the NCLR Bravo Award for his role in the sitcom Latino Laugh Festival , in which he appeared alongside Cheech Marin . He appeared in the sitcom Comic Relief VIII (1998) alongside Billy Crystal , Whoopi Goldberg and Robin Williams . For this role he was nominated in 1999 for the American Latino Media Arts Award .

Rodriguez played the role of Diego in the comedy Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles (2001) opposite Paul Hogan and Linda Kozlowski . In the comedy Tortilla Soup - The Spice of Life (2001) he played the role of Orlando Castillo , husband of Leticia Naranjo ( Elizabeth Peña ) and son-in-law of Martin Naranjo ( Hector Elizondo ). For this role he was nominated for the American Latino Media Arts Award in 2002.

His son is the famous skateboarder Paul Rodriguez .
