Paul Selk

Paul Selk (born February 24, 1903 in Oehe, Schleswig-Flensburg district , † June 27, 1996 in Kiel ) was a German educator and folklorist .

Paul Selk was the son of a gardener. He attended the teachers' college in Segeberg and was then a teacher in fishing ; from 1938 main teacher in Bredegatt . From 1954 Selk was a lecturer at the University of Education in Flensburg . He was married to the actress, writer and radio broadcaster Irmgard Harder .

In his free time, he studied the folklore of the region. In 1960 Paul Selk was awarded the Quickborn Prize . His folklore records are now in the Schleswig-Holstein State Library .
