Irmgard Harder
Irmgard Selk-Harder (born August 20, 1922 in Hamburg ; † September 3, 2012 in Kiel ) was a German actress , writer and radio broadcaster .
Life
After graduating from high school in Hamburg in 1942, Irmgard Harder completed an apprenticeship as an actress and had engagements at various stages, including five years at the Hamburg Ohnsorg Theater . From 1948 she began to work as a journalist, first for magazines, later as a permanent employee for the Norddeutscher Rundfunk , here first in Hamburg, since 1952 in the NDR studio in Flensburg and from 1965 in the Funkhaus Kiel. From the beginning until her retirement in 1984 she was in charge of the Low German editorial team (later the home editorial office). Between 1970 and 1973, Harder also worked as a director of short films for ZDF .
In 1954, Irmgard Harder began writing Low German contributions in the form of short stories and features for both radio and the then still young medium of television. When the NDR launched the program Hör mal'n prayen to in 1956 , Harder was an author and spokesperson from the very beginning. After her retirement, she stayed with the series until 1997. In addition, she played a major role in the success of the program Von Binnenland und Waterkant , the oldest radio broadcast in Schleswig-Holstein.
In addition to numerous books with Low German stories, some of which were printed in several editions, Irmgard Harder also wrote the radio play Asmus Karsten söcht en niege Heimat, broadcast by NDR in 1955 . In addition, many of her works are contained in anthologies with Low German stories.
Irmgard Harder, who has received various awards in her career, was married to the folklorist Paul Selk , who died in 1996 . She last lived in Schleswig.
