Blomberg grew up in Kiel's Stinkviertel in the Ravensberg district . After completing elementary school , he kept himself afloat with various jobs as a runner, country helper, small servant and housekeeper and then began an apprenticeship as a locksmith at the Deutsche Werke in Kiel, which he also successfully completed. His work as a locksmith at Deutsche Werke , accepted after his apprenticeship, was only interrupted by being drafted into the Wehrmacht and being a prisoner of war during World War II. In 1978 Blomberg was released into retirement, whereupon he wrote several books as an author from 1983 ( "Opwussen in't Stinkviddel" ).

Works

In his stories, Blomberg reflects on and documents personal war and post-war experiences and tells of the ups and downs, the privations and hopes in the life of a simple man during the Second World War.
