Ines Barber

Ines Barber (born August 23, 1957 in Rendsburg , Schleswig-Holstein ) is a German journalist , radio presenter and Low German author .

Life

Barber grew up in Rendsburg, where she was born. After graduating from high school in 1977 at the local Helene-Lange-Gymnasium, at that time still a pure lyceum , she completed a two-year traineeship at the Holsteinischer Courier in Neumünster . From 1979 on she studied English , German and art history at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel. She completed her studies in 1985 with a Magister Artium .

At the end of 1985 Barber was part of the founding team of the private radio station R.SH in Kiel , together with Hermann Stümpert , Jürgen Köster and Ad Roland, and worked there as a presenter until 1991. In 1992 she switched to the private radio station delta radio , also based in Kiel , where she worked as deputy program director and word chief until 1993 . After a long, family-related career break, she presented her first Low German program on Radio NORA from 1999 . In 2001 she switched from the private broadcaster to NDR 1 Welle Nord . There she is on the road as a High and Low German reporter all over Schleswig-Holstein and can also be heard in the radio magazine Hör mal 'n prayen to . Until February 2013 she was also the presenter of the program Von Binnenland und Waterkant on Platt. She also appears as the moderator of poetry slams on Platt.

Since 2004 Barber has been on the road in Northern Germany with various of his own Low German programs and since 2011 she has been a columnist on Platt for the food and drink magazine La Carte for Kiel and Lübeck .

Barber is part of the board of trustees of the Fritz Reuter Prize , which is awarded by the Alfred Toepfer Foundation FVS .
