Gerd Bahr

Gerd Bahr (born April 26, 1933 in Drochtersen , Hanover Province , Free State of Prussia ) is a German teacher and author who publishes in Low German .

Life

Bahr grew Kehdingen , attended in his birthplace, the folk and in the Hanseatic city of Stade , the middle school . After leaving school, he first did an apprenticeship as an electrician and then worked in this profession as a journeyman .

From 1955 to 1958 he studied at the Adolf Reichwein University in Osnabrück . After passing the second state examination in 1962, Bahr initially took over a one-class village school on the Stader Geest . From 1966 until his retirement in 1993 he was a teacher and most recently rector of the primary and secondary school in Bützfleth .

In his private life, Bahr devotes himself to cultivating the Low German language and publishes Low German books. He was also active in local politics and was a member of the district council in the Stade district and councilor of the city of Stade.

Gerd Bahr lives in Stade-Bützfleth.
