Wolfgang Sieg (born October 22, 1936 in Hamburg ; † September 11, 2015 there ) was a German teacher and writer .

Life

Wolfgang Sieg grew up in Quickborn and Hamburg. He studied theology , philosophy , German and history in Hamburg and Kiel . Then he worked as a teacher in Elmshorn . On a remote, former farm in Seester near Elmshorn, he found the peace and quiet to write many of his works before he returned to the city of Elmshorn.

He has been writing radio plays in Low German and novels in High German since the mid-1960s and became known as the author of satirical and humorous short stories, which he wrote and read in High German, Low German and Missingsch . Sieg gained notoriety as a columnist for the satirical magazine Pardon (from 1972 to 1980), at the taz in Hamburg, as an author of story collections and as an employee of the series Hör mal 'n prayen to in the radio program of the North German Radio . In addition, he wrote satirical glosses from time to time in the local newspaper Elmshorner Nachrichten . He made a brief appearance as a man in the garden in the movie Karniggels , on which Sieg co-wrote.

Wolfgang Sieg was married and lived with his wife in Elmshorn. The marriage had three children.
